Founder, Musical Director, and driving force of Choros Amici, Chris combines a musical background and drama
training in his 'day-job' as a roving freelance choral animateur,
conductor and arranger.
He has been closely associated with Sing for Pleasure for
many years, works regularly with a number of highly regarded
choirs, and is a much sought-after choral trainer and 'fixer' for choral groups of many styles, from chamber ensembles to quartets and Barbershop choruses.
Alongside his passion for inspiring and improving choirs of all types, Chris has trained new and experienced choral directors for Sing for Pleasure, the British Federation of Young Choirs, the British Association of Barbershop Singersand has presented workshops for the Association of British Choral Directors.
Chris arranges 'light' and folk music for a capella choir under two names - his own for more demanding works (usually arranged for Amici or Friday Voices) and simpler 'crowd-pleasers', designed to be easily read and performed by most singers - look out for a wide variety of light Christmas pop classics - under the 'Cheese Factory' label. Guaranteed fun and applause for all.
Chris also produces warm-ups and workshops for choral competitions and now, following the success of Choros Amici, brings his customary enthusiasm as a choral adjudicator to festivals around the country.
He is in demand as a workshop leader and is renowned for the fun and energy he brings to courses (classical, barbershop, and gospel) in his work.
